I heard that booking.com no longer supports CVV codes - is that true?

Per booking.com:

Unfortunately we can only inform you of the technical side of this, which is: The CVV is indeed an option that can only be switched on- or off by the property’s account manager. What security regulations are in place locally is something we don’t know, or if we would are unable to disclose.

Please advise the properties to obtain the sufficient information with their account manager or local support team as they know the answers per region best.
