What is the difference between "Expedia Collect" and "Hotel Collect" bookings?

Expedia offers two methods of payment for their bookings — Expedia Collect and Hotel Collect. Check below further details about both options.

It's easy for you to accept both types of bookings. The only difference is that:

  • Hotel Collect bookings will include the credit card data in the booking and you will charge the customer directly.
  • Expedia Collect bookings will already be paid at the time of the booking and you will charge an Expedia Virtual Card (EVC).

The payment method is always noted on the booking:

Myallocator displays your NET rates. Expedia fees are already deducted. The total price is shown with taxes included. (Taxes are specified for your information)

In this example a property charges Expedia Virtual Card for 48 EUR.

The 'day rate' shows your NET rates (without the taxes or Expedia compensation):

Example of Hotel Collect booking

Myallocator displays your SELL rate. This rate includes the taxes and Expedia fees.

In this example property charges the guest the full amount - 110 EUR per day (330 EUR total). Property owes Expedia 19,38 EUR per day.
